Smoky Mountain Haven - 8 BD Cabin in Pigeon Forge

We had a great stay at this cabin! The rooms were very nice and spacious, and the private balconies were a really nice touch. The common areas were perfect for our large group and gave everyone plenty of space to relax and spend time together. The host was also very responsive and easy to communicate with, which we really appreciated.The only downside was that the walls and floors are a bit thin, so you can hear conversations and footsteps from rooms above, below, and next door. However, it wasn’t a major issue for our group and didn’t take away from the overall experience. We still had a wonderful stay!

The host was very thorough in check in instructions, and the cabin had everything we needed!

Wi-Fi was out at cabin before we arrived, owners didn't seem to care, no hurry to get fixed for us, even though i reached out every day for progress and was told that I am waiting for the part. So 8 televisions in the cabin that were useless because everything requires internet. Also no actual living room area on main floor, very inconvenient when traveling with limited mobility parents. Beds and pillows were bare minium at best. Also cabin was 55 degrees when we arrived at 4PM, took till midnight or so to get warmed up to 68 degrees. Very cold and unpleasant that evening.

We ran out of hot water and the bathroom on the top level leaked down to the kitchen. The leak means the floor was probably not sealed around the shower.

Communication was good prior to our arrival but upon arrival, other than picking up the trash, and supplying a working remote for one of the tvs, the host often did respond. The cabin was clean but the main floor was overtaken by sewer smells. Septic may need emptying. The HVAC could not be regulated. The main floor had 2 thermostats, neither of which seemed to regulate the main floor or any other floor. I took a pic of thermostats on lower level and main and sent to host. Each floor registered in the low 50’s. The host had reached out on Thanksgiving and told us there was a HVAC tech was coming next day. I informed host by email that was good because sections of the cabin were extremely cold. When the Tech did not show up at appointed time, we notified host and received no response. We also reported an overwhelming sewer smell and a door on one of the patios did not open. No response to either of these.I have used VRBO several times and this was the most expensive one I have rented but I’m sorry to say, this host was the least responsive.Beautiful location, clean but needs some overall updates and instructions would be helpful.
